NAPA Eco Balloon Race- Coronation Special

NAPA (National Activity Providers Association) is a national charity that connects, signposts, encourages and motivates those with an interest in engagement, well-being and lifestyle. NAPA offers training, advice, support, and is a Skills for Care endorsed training provider.
The vital services that NAPA offer enable staff to provide meaningful engagement with individuals receiving care.
NAPA is a charity and is reliant on grants, donations, membership and sales of its services to exist. We exist for our members and the individuals receiving care.
Donations and grants have helped us to develop the level 2 and level 3 activity qualifications, which are now established as vital to an activity providers knowledge and skill base. They have also helped us to develop resources for the activity provider to use to make that vital difference to the individuals receiving care. We would now like to develop a suite of short eLearning courses, suitable for everyone, that will explain the importance and value of person centered activity, and how they can get involved in improving the quality of life of the individuals in their care. To do this we need your help to raise £5,000.
This virtual balloon race is a great, environmentally friendly, fun way to help us fundraise. You can buy a balloon and customise it’s shape, colour, thickness, and helium level.

The balloons will be ‘launched’ on Coronation day – 2nd June 2020. They are then subjected to a simulated flight pattern based on the actual weather conditions such as the prevailing wind speed and current temperature. This simulation uses an advanced computer modelling programme linked to Google maps and a commercial weather data supplier. Anyone can follow the leading 100 balloons online through the 7 days of the race.

The winning balloon (£500 prize) is the one that has flown the furthest in a straight line from the launch location. Interestingly, a popped / burst balloon can still win if the wind direction changes and sends the still-flying balloons backwards in a reverse direction.

We are hoping that you will get involved , not only by buying a balloon ( or more) but holding launch parties for friends, relatives, families, activities that celebrate the coronation, hold a week of balloon related activities, tracking your balloons progress.

EACH BALLOON COSTS £3, from this NAPA will receive £2.38 per balloon.
