“I honestly don’t know how we would have got through lockdown without arts and creative activities” Activity Co-ordinator
It’s getting very close to 24 September, National Day of Arts in Care Homes #AICH2020 now. We know that lots of you have been doing amazing arts activities throughout lockdown and have some wonderful stories to share about the benefits for residents and staff. On the day, as well as posting about lots of great care home arts activities and projects, we will be sharing lots of brilliant free art resources, a cartoon done especially for us by the renowned artist Tony Husband and much more.
We want to hear about your art events on 24 September and the ways that you have used the arts to keep connected with your #CreativeCommunities. It’s not too late to organise and register an event for the day and stand the chance of winning one of four £100 Arts in Care vouchers, to spend on arts activities.
We know that for some of you, creativity and art have really made a crucial difference during Covid-19, in terms of helping residents and staff express their feelings, find meaning, purpose and happiness during a very difficult time. This is your chance to shout about all the great stuff your care teams, residents and local communities have been doing – please get involved! #activityisvital
